Experience
Dr Alimohamed’s interest in ADHD grew from her work as a GP and her experience supporting patients with a wide range of mental health concerns. She became increasingly aware of how many adults had spent years struggling with difficulties that were later recognised as ADHD, often without understanding the underlying reasons for their challenges.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge with degrees in Medicine and Genetics, Dr Alimohamed completed her postgraduate medical training within the Birmingham and Solihull Deanery. During this
time she gained experience across several specialties, including a dedicated Psychiatry placement, where she developed a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on daily life.
Alongside her NHS work, Dr Alimohamed has undertaken additional training in adult ADHD assessment. She enjoys working collaboratively with individuals to explore their developmental history, understand their experiences, and provide clear, evidence-based assessments.
