CBT
Cognitive behavioral therapyCBT is a talking therapy designed to help people manage their problems by changing the way they think and behave. It aims to encourage us to become more aware of negative thoughts and of the behavioural patterns which reinforce our unhelpful thinking.
DBT
Dialectical Behaviour TherapyDBT is based on a combination of both acceptance and change strategies, which together increase more helpful and adaptive behaviour. DBT has its roots in traditional CBT and is concerned with the same elements as CBT.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and ReprocessingEMDR is an innovative psychotherapy treatment to help people who are experiencing distress and other difficult symptoms as a result from a trauma, also known as PTSD.
CBT-E
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating DisordersThese therapies have been adapted from CBT to specifically work for eating disorders and share the approach of encouraging behavioural change to address the thoughts and emotions that underpin eating disorders.
Coaching & Wellness
If you would like to stay on top of your mental wellbeing or needing extra support and are not experiencing any severe mental health conditions then coaching or general check-in booster sessions can be helpful for you.

Complete the screening questionnaire and we will connect you with a therapist according to your needs and requirement criteria.
Step 2
Book appointment
Bookings can be done by telephone, the online booking portal or email. At the end of your assessment your therapist will advise on the number of sessions needed for your course of therapy and schedule them to fit around you.

Begin your therapy

Can't speak highly enough of Oxford CBT. The booking/rearrangement process has been updated to be really easy, and the flexibility to be online or in-person is invaluable. I worked on my struggles with depression and anxiety with Ellen and then more extensively with Ellie and she helped me so much, even just session-to-session she's so friendly and warm and validating, I could laugh with her just as often as I could cry. When I started CBT I wasn't convinced that it would work but with the patience of Ellen and Ellie, I'm doing so much better. Thank you so much to them & to Oxford CBT.

Dan Drew was an outstanding therapist. He was patient, caring and empathetic. Dan supported me throughout my journey with OCD and helped me the best he could in times where I was in crisis. He was always there to listen. Always. I’ll never forget the support he has given me. He is outstanding.

Initially I was apprehensive about being allocated a male therapist when I had requested a female one. However I quickly felt very comfortable working with David and became confident that he would be able to help me with my problems. I found each session really useful. I enjoyed studying the handouts and suggested reading material as well as carrying out the practical exercises designed to build my confidence.
My CBT sessions with David more than filled my expectations. My anxieties and resulting insomnia are greatly reduced and I believe I have the tools to deal with any relapses.

I feel that the interaction my young daughter had with Oxford CBT was extremely positive. Oxford CBT handled my daughters appointments with such passion and empathy, that my daughter really looked forward to each appointment. Appointments were made to feel informal, casual and enjoyable. I had no experience of any sort of therapy and had no idea how CBT worked. I was allocated Nikki Newhouse and even told her that if CBT was "airy fairy" I wouldn't stick with it! But I found Nikki very approachable and it didn't take me long to get my head around what it was all about. On the whole I found my sessions were very useful and as well as helping me to know how to deal with my fears they reaffirmed who I am. So I came away a happy bunny!

Being over 70, and having had to deal with constant anxiety from childhood, I was really embarrassed and ashamed that at my advanced age I had to admit that I needed help as the problem suddenly escalated to such an extent that I became unable to leave the house. After a couple of months I knew that if I didn’t seek help this was how the rest of my life was going to be! With a great deal of trepidation I contacted Oxford CBT and am so very relieved that I did, as along the whole journey from start to finish I was treated with respect, kindness and understanding by everyone I came into contact with, especially my Therapist. Katharine encouraged me to start from the beginning and speak about my life as well as all the things that had caused me to be anxious along the way. During our discussions over the weeks she showed me how to alter my way of thinking with regard to my many anxieties, and also shared some practical ideas to help me cope with them. All this was done, as I said before, with respect, kindness and understanding. Thanks to Katharine I can now leave the house whenever I want, and go wherever I want, whilst being reassured that if I should become anxious I know how to control it. At last I have my life back - thank you so much.

I was very reluctant to talk about my problems/insecurities with a total stranger, however, after the first session with Chris, I felt huge relief and hope. I immediately booked my weekly sessions and was looking forward to all of them. My therapist was insightful, intelligent and well-prepared for each session. I didn’t see the results immediately (which I was told beforehand) but at the end, together with Chris, I could “kill” my anxieties and start living my life. Throughout the process I was given homework (usually uncomfortable yet necessary) and was taught some techniques that helped me deal with my anxieties. I attended some more additional sessions just to support what we had already achieved and now it is safe for me to say that I don’t need to see Chris every week. Everyone around saw the changes in me but most importantly, I saw it myself. Now I am spending all my energy on rebuilding my career and spending time with my family.

I struggle with a number of mental health difficulties. Having had some CBT in the past, I decided to continue my treatment with a more long-term provider. Oxford CBT were exceptionally helpful and very efficient in getting me set up with a therapist and in treatment. My therapist is just brilliant, I’m so grateful for the help she’s given me. I’m still in treatment but the changes I’ve noticed within myself are huge, and the progress is really noticeable.
