Stress management

Stress is a physical response – the result of the body switching to ‘fight or flight’ mode, and releasing a complex mix of hormones and chemicals prepare the body for action. This causes a number of reactions, from blood being diverted to muscles to shutting down unnecessary bodily functions such as digestion. While this response can help us survive dangerous situations, it is often also the way we respond in inappropriate situations, reducing brain function and our ability to think clearly. In turn, if our bodies are in a state of stress for long periods, it can be detrimental to our health with side effects such as increased blood pressure and a decrease in libido. For more information and details of how we can help please get in touch >
