Mindfulness – Next courses start Friday 24th September 2018 – Give us a call to find out more

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a fantastic tool for improving your well-being and quality of life, and is something you can learn and practice in your own home. Our 8 week courses are designed to both teach you the basics as well as how to train yourself to think in a more positive way. As a scientifically-proven technique that has been used therapeutically for thousands of years, Mindfulness can help you recognise negative thoughts, and accept that they are not ‘facts’. It can help you recognise your thought patterns and focus on acknowledging thoughts as they arise, before letting them go.
How can it help me?

Mindfulness is made up of four elements; body awareness, self-awareness, regulation of emotion and regulation of attention. Our courses are linked closely to these elements, as well as teaching you:  It can help manage a wide range of issues, both positive and negative, improving your quality of life and your general well-being, so why not give it a try?

See below for details of the specific issues that Mindfulness can help with.

What can Mindfulness help with?
Mindfulness can help with a wide variety of issues and difficulties, many of which are listed below.  If you would like to find out more or ask about any issues not listed below, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
Insomnia / Sleep difficulties Adults
The time we spend sleeping is vital in terms of our mental and physical health. The stresses and pressures of daily life can often have adverse effects on our sleep and whether or not we feel rested when we wake up. Although it varies for everyone, the average adult requires approximately 7-8 hours per night, and children can require up to 14 hours or more. If you or someone you know are suffering from persistent poor sleep or insomnia, we can help. Low mood and depression Adults
Adults and children alike often suffer from low moods and depression, feelings that can be long-lasting and wide range of effects on their wider life. Identifying these difficulties early is key in terms of instigating change. We recognise the pressures faced by people in all walks of life and can help make the individual, their families and friends aware of key signs and symptoms they should look out for. Low self-esteem Adults
Having low self-esteem can have a real impact on an individual’s life, affecting their ability to develop relationships, pursue a career and achieve a sense of wellbeing. It can result in feeling of guilt and blame, as well as paranoia.  There are many ways that these feelings can be tackled, dependent on the individual and their personal goals.  To find out more about the Mindfulness courses we offer and how they may help you or your child, please click here or get in touch.
Perfectionism Adults
Perfectionism is a tendency to set high standards that can either not be met, or can only be met with great difficulty. Perfectionists tend to believe that achieving anything short of perfection is a failure, and that even minor imperfections will lead to catastrophe – a stressful and unpleasant experience for children in particular. Promoting wellbeing Adults
Every element of our lives can influence our wellbeing, yet achieving wellbeing is often elusive. From our health and relationships to careers, diet to wealth, our wellbeing is subjective and complex. Mindfulness can help identify the key drivers behind your perception of wellbeing, and how you can focus your efforts on achieving it.
